It was all smiles in Wehrs Machine Victory Lane Saturday night for Tanner Mullens and his crew as they picked off another series win at 81 Speedway in Park City, KS. He had to work a little more for this one though, firing from the inside of the fourth row in seventh.
“I couldn’t heat race good and just not really that good all around early,” said Mullens about his early night performance. “We just worked on it. It’s really cool to win here. (There are) a lot of fans, a lot of familiar faces and a short drive home!”
Once out front, Mullens was never seriously challenged. Henry Chambers led the field to green after securing the number one Wagdog Spices “Kiss-O-Sweet” bottle at the redraw. He along with Chevy Coleman completed the evening’s top three podium.
Tyler Davis continues to be the mark of consistency. Still chasing the first series checkers of the season. He has failed to finish outside of the top five at any at series event. Saturday night he was fourth and extended his points lead to 81 markers. Wyatt Gaggero had another good night completing the balance of the top five.
With five races contested over the past two weekends. This coming weekend will be a great chance for teams to regroup and get ready for Humboldt Speedway and Valley Speedway in a couple weeks.
Saturday’s stop at 81 Speedway marked the 13th Heartland Modified Tour Presented by Real Racing Wheels event promoted and hosted by F.O.E. Racing and owners JR and Kati Sartain. They have held more shows than any other promoter in company history. A huge THANK YOU goes out to them, promoter John Allen and the entire staff at both Humboldt and 81 Speedway.
